The George Washington University Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) Program and the History Department invite applications for a full-time tenure-track position in United States Women’s History to begin fall 2017. The individual will help shape a strong Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program (WGSS), and contribute to a strong U.S. History concentration in the Department of History. We encourage applications from scholars working on any aspect of US Women’s and Gender History, especially Latina history and/or 20th century. The successful candidate will demonstrate an active research agenda, be ready to teach undergraduate survey courses in US Women’s history as well as more specialized graduate and upper-division seminars.
Teaching and service will be evenly allocated between WGSS and History.

World History / Studies
The GW WGSS Program, the oldest graduate program in Women’s Studies in the U.S., and the first to offer a policy-focused degree, offers undergraduate and MA degrees.
The program emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to the study of women, gender and sexuality, bridging the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences.
